Dactylohiza ‘Foliorella’ is a hybrid between Dactylorhiza foliosa and purpurella. This hybrid is characterised by being very vigorous. In full bloom, the plant can reach a height of 60 to 80 cm and the imposing flower head regularly measures more than 30 cm. This magnificent orchid bears very bright purple flowers. The effect in gardens is unparalleled.

Planting

Dactylorhiza like rich, clay and loose soils, because they prefer cool and moist conditions. The majority of these orchids like damp locations and can be grown on the edges of a pond or lake. In these conditions, magnificent clumps can be obtained in a few years.

For optimal results, Phytesia also recommends a specific substrate for garden orchids of the genus Dactylorhiza, Epipactis and Cypripedium.
